SCE&G also filed a petition requesting permission to begin initial clearing, excavation and construction work on the proposed new nuclear site, pending approval of the BLRA application |

The S.C. Public Service Commission holds hearings on SCE&G’s Combined Application for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility, Public Convenience and Necessity, and for a Base Load Review Order. In addition to SCE&G’s need for new electric generation, the PSC hears testimony concerning incremental rate increases to help finance the project. |
